Worcester Public Schools Athletic Hall of Fame
Worcester Country District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr., now serving his third term, has been a promoter of crime prevention. He believes in supporting the Worcester Public Schools sports programs. Joe’s passion is encouraging young people to stay active in adult controlled activities after school. Joe donates money confiscated from drug dealers to a wide variety of youth programs throughout the county in order to prevent crime and build kids’ character through their efforts with their teammates. The Worcester Public High School athletes have been among the beneficiaries. Whether it’s providing funds for needed equipment, uniforms or improving playing fields, the DA is making a difference. The fields at Foley Stadium, South, Doherty, and, most recently, North have been greatly improved thanks to Joe’s emphasis on giving Worcester kids a good place to play.
